Crazy Disney Pressure
Oh yes, the pressure of creating lasting magical Disney vacations. Despite what you are about to read and what this photo demonstrates, I love Walt Disney World.
Walt Disney World is a place where dreams matter. The mega iconic entertainment complex maintains the most impressive and inspiring business model of all time. People of all ages travel from all over the world to see Cinderella’s castle firsthand and a chance to take their picture with the mouse. Yeah, I know. Tell it to the kid.
Disney World maintains its position as a top Make-A-Wish destination for thousands of children battling life threatening illnesses. And we’ve all heard winning Super Bowl Quarterbacks toss that line since 1987:
“What are you going to do next?” planted question
“I’m going to Walt Disney World!” $75,000 answer
The mere thought of going thrills my kiddos. The anticipation is equal to Christmas Eve jitters. For us parents, it’s the same. There is something even more magical about bringing your kids to the happiest place on earth. A chance to revisit nostalgia of your own childhood; and man alive the looks on their little faces will melt the iciest of hearts (she types with a suck-up nod to Queen Elsa).
The Disney pressure is real. It’s no wonder regular moms like me dream up and set up huge expectations to give our kids magical trips. Let’s visit the happiest place on earth as the happiest family on earth in coordinatingly dapper clothes and photo document smiling chipper faces along the way!!! Right? Ha, wrong! As delightful as all of that sounds, it’s impossible. The lines, the rain, the thrill of the rides, the heat, skipped or stroller naps, late nights, extra sugar, the temper tantrums, closed rides, unpredictable character greetings. It won’t always be picture perfect, but it will be worth it. Am I a Disney expert? No, in relative terms probably not. I won’t be winning any trivia awards. But I have reached expert family travel status through some hard lessons along the way. And since it’s my mission to write about what I am passionate about; you bet your ass I’m going to talk Disney. Read up, take notes, hell, even ask questions. I can help alleviate some of that Disney pressure. So strap on your readers ladies and gentlemen. Today we begin my multi post series and blog section “Disney Bound”.
